How Does The Kangen Water Machine System Work?
The diagram illustrates the basic functions of a Kangen Water Ionizer.
Tap water enters the Water Purifying Filter, an antibacterial active carbon filter, which is able to remove lead, chlorine, rust, and muddiness while at the same time preserving the important minerals in the source water, such as Calcium, Potassium and Magnesium.
The example shows 7 vertical plates, which is the number of platinum plates utilized by the Enagic flagship model, LeveLuk Sd501.
Water flows through a multi-electrode plate mechanism which ionizes and splits the water into alkaline and acidic waters. (Both alkaline and acidic water have unique and beneficial uses).
(For Strong Acidic & Strong Alkaline Water only) Water flows through an electrolysis enhancer to aid in the production of both strong acidic and highly alkaline water, which is not for drinking.
Solid Versus Mesh Plates
The Kangen Water(R) machines produce the highest quality ionized, alkaline water. Enagic’s patented, solid dipped, platinum plates are dipped in medical grade platinum (at over $1,500 per oz) and not sprayed like many of the cheap imitations.
Enagic is the only manufacturer which uses 7 solid medical grade, platinum coated titanium electrolysis plates with 490 sq. in. surface area, and which uses 230 watts in order to provide enough power to perform a sufficient quantity of electrolysis with reasonable flow rate.
Ionization quality is a function of how much electricity comes in contact with how much water, so these numbers are especially revealing. The Enagic LeveLuk SD501 produces “Kangen Water” with a consistent strong negative ORP characteristic.
Ionizing Plate Size With Largest Surface Area
The Kangen Water Machine ionizing plates have the largest surface area of any other machine on the market. They are four times larger than the plates of a leading competitor. The size of the plates is a key factor in the process of alkalizing or acidifying water.
It is an irrefutable law of electricity, chemistry and physics that the higher the electrical voltage a plate can sustain and the longer period of time water stays in contact with this voltage, the more complete the ionization process.

Quality Of Construction In The Enagic Factory
Each Kangen Water Machine is assembled individually by one trained technician and goes through a 22-point inspection by 5 different inspectors.
Since Enagic is an OEM, or Original Equipment Manufacturer, the company performs all the steps in the process, from stamping their own proprietary titanium plates, producing the electrode plates and all other parts, to expert assembly of the electrolysis chambers, testing, inspection and the final packaging—all with no outsourcing. This procedure guarantees a high quality product which is built to last.
Reliable Warranty, Maintenance, And Life Expectancy Of The Kangen Water Machine
The Enagic LeveLuk SD501 comes with a 5-year FULL Warranty (and now an optional extended two year warranty is also offered). Enagic’s warranty covers everything including all parts and labor in any condition, whereas some water ionizers have exclusions based on factors such as the kind of water you put in their machine.
Each removable filter from the ionizer machine is good for about 3000 gallons. The replacement costs, for the filter is approximately $100. The built-in microprocessor indicates when the filter should be replaced.
Every few months, depending upon usage, the removable filter should be taken out and a cleaning cartridge placed inside the machine. This cleaning cartridge is used to clean the mineral deposits off the engine (the electrolysis plates.)
With the proper maintenance, the life expectancy of the Enagic Kangen Water Machine is approximately 15 years.
